Honoring our Veterans – One Wreath at a Time
Join CMCA in sponsoring wreaths to be laid on veterans’ graves to honor their service to our country.
The goal is simple, help raise awareness for WAA’s year-round mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom, while helping each raise funds to support for local programs important to the people of Colorado.
Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
For more information or to sponsor a wreath please click here.

CVSA focusing on brake linings, pads during Brake Safety Week
Brake linings and pads will be the focus of Brake Safety Week, which is scheduled for Aug. 20-26, according to an announcement from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.
During Brake Safety Week, law enforcement officers will inspect brake systems and remove commercial motor vehicles found to have brake-related out-of-service violations from roadways until those violations are corrected. Throughout the week, CVSA-certified inspectors will conduct their usual inspections. However, they will be reporting brake-related inspection and violation data to the alliance.

Driving Green Trucks Ahead at the Right Speed
Truck dealers are all-in on electric commercial motor vehicles and want cleaner, greener, and safer trucks on our roadways. We’re doing our part to be ready for the coming electrification of commercial fleets.
However, we also understand that fleet owners have major factors to weigh when considering an investment in electric or alternative-powered vehicles. Medium- and heavy-duty truck dealers like me sell vehicles to businesses, and the ultimate question our customers ask is whether these vehicles can meet their needs and expectations. Commercial customers will adopt electric vehicles when the investment makes sense for them financially...

Express Lanes Enforcement
Beginning June 21, the Colorado Transportation Investment Office (the government-owned business within CDOT that oversees Colorado’s Express Lanes) will begin enforcing safety laws on the I-70 Mountain Express Lanes.
The program encourages safe driving on CTIO’s network of Express Lanes by using sophisticated roadside technology to enforce Express Lane rules. Violators identified by this technology will be issued a civil penalty via mail based on the registered address of the vehicle’s license plate.
These violations include:
1. Driving in the Express Lane when signage indicates that it’s closed — except in an emergency or as an authorized emergency vehicle.
2. Weaving in and out of the Express Lanes and general-purpose lanes over the solid yellow line.
3. Driving in the Express Lanes in an oversized vehicle with more than two axles or exceeding 25 feet in length. This includes travel trailers, RVs, vehicles hauling boats or trailers, semi trucks, etc.
Enforcement will begin on June 21 with a month-long grace period. During the grace period, drivers will receive warnings in the mail when they are recorded committing a violation. Starting July 21, violators will be issued civil penalties starting at $75 for a first offense if paid within 20 days. After
20 days, the fine increases to $150. Learn more at expresslanes.codot.gov.
