A note from Pastor David...

Dear members & friends of Community of ChristChurch,

I simply want to say thank you to each and every one of you for the privilege of serving as your pastor for the last thirteen years. It would be an understatement to say that we have been through a lot together. We have walked side by side through several transitions along the way, most notably in the last four plus years: selling our building, becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation, and navigating a global pandemic. It has not been an easy or a smooth path. But throughout the journey I have witnessed how you have grown closer together as a community and how your faith in God's Beloved One, Jesus the Christ, has grown stronger.

As we approach the end of this road, I would like to remind you that I will continue to be your pastor for several weeks following our last weekly worship and congregational meeting on August 11th. Please reach out if you want to talk, or schedule a visit, or simply get together for coffee or a meal. I am also happy to help you think through your next steps after ChristChurch... such as congregations you might want to visit or connect with you as you discern where your next church home will be.

While I will miss seeing you all on a regular basis, I love knowing that we continue to be siblings in Christ wherever we go. And I trust that, even as ChristChurch comes to a close, the kin-dom of God will not be diminished. Each of you will continue to be the Good News of Jesus Christ in your words and your actions, and in the relationships you nurture out in the world.

God's peace,
Pastor David

Fellowship & Service Opportunities:
Many of you may already know that little Daisy Stupfel, Kelsey and Jonathan's newborn daughter, has been fighting a nasty bacterial infection that has kept her in the hospital for several days. While Daisy seems to be responding to antibiotics, they are keeping her for a while longer for observation. We continue to pray for Daisy and her family for healing and complete recovery.

In the meantime, a Meal Train has been organized for the Stupfel family to give them some relief from planning and cooking meals. If you would like to participate by bringing a meal or purchasing a gift card, simply click on the link below:

*Are you interested in continuing to gather for
coffee and conversation on a regular basis
as friends and siblings in Christ
even after Community of ChristChurch has come to a close?
Come on August 3rd and let's talk more about it!

COVID 19 Safety Update:

As we move toward holding more worship services and events in person, we are also moving into the cold and flu season. We want to be mindful of our health and well-being as individuals and as a community. This means that we will be keeping close track of the Community Risk Level as it is indicated on the COVID Act Now website for Washington County.

https://covidactnow.org/us/oregon-or/county/washington_county/?s=47743522

And we will follow these basic guidelines:

Community Risk Level:

LOW Masks are not required;

those who prefer to wear them are encouraged to do so.

MEDIUM Masks are required;

singers and speakers up front can

remove masks when they sing/speak.

HIGH Masks are required for everyone;

we may choose to refrain from in-person worship

and meet via Zoom only.

If the Community Risk Level changes prior to Sunday

in-person worship, we will send out a Special Faith News

Email Bulletin. Please look for that bulletin in your email

inbox on Saturday evening or Sunday morning before you

leave the house, to learn the Community Risk Level and proceed accordingly. As always, if you have a cough, a fever,

or any cold or flu-like symptoms, we ask you to stay home

and join us online.
