Update from Sacred Circle
First, we want to thank everyone for their wonderful donations. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of this community for their neighbors in need. We have a large pile of clothing that will be donated within the next week.
We have decided to postpone the donation to Blanchet house, due to shipping delays not all items have arrived. We will probably be able to deliver the homeless and covid bags by late January. We are confident that the items will be needed as much then as they are now.
In the meantime, we plan to divide the clothing between Lifeline Connections (Vancouver) and Washington County Homeless Coordinators office here in Hillsboro. We are also Donating Christmas Socks to WQRC (Homeplate), Washington County Homeless Kids, and the Beaverton School District.
Once again, we offer our sincere thanks. Sacred Circle meets on the 1st Monday of the month on Zoom at 7PM. You are welcome to join us at any time.

TEXTtalks: New Year Gospel Edition – Thursday, December 17th, 7-8:30pm
Are you interested in getting a head start on engaging with the scripture texts that form the basis for preaching each Sunday morning in worship?
Join us on Thursday, December 17th, at 7pm, for the next edition of TEXTtalks… a monthly conversation on the texts we hear in worship. Join me and others as we read through the upcoming Bible stories and ask ourselves… what do we notice? what do we wonder about?
In this upcoming session we will discuss the following stories for the month of January, all from the Gospel of Luke:
Luke 2:41-52 In My Abba’s House Jan 3
Luke 3:1-22 Make Ready the Way Jan 10
Luke 4:14-30 Good News to the Poor – Remix! Jan 17
Luke 5:1-11 Don’t Be Afraid Jan 24
Luke 6:1-16 Poking the Bear! Jan 31
I look forward to this opportunity to engage with God’s word in community.
I invite you to read these texts ahead of time and come ready to join the discussion.

Explore Your Relationship with Food
Are you curious about your relationship with food? Or wonder what I’m even talking about when I say that? Do you know what you’re “supposed” to eat but find yourself more attracted to what you’re not “supposed” to eat? Then this class is for you! Eating, and feeding our bodies isn’t just about food – it’s about so much more! Taste, emotions, memories, experiences, beliefs, rituals, traditions, and more! No wonder it can be so hard to just simply eat!
In this class we’ll explore your personal relationship with food and how that impacts how and what you eat. This class will be interactive, so come with an open mind, ready to explore new ideas and possibilities. Class will be held online via zoom.
