Online Worship Logistics: 

  • The online doors to our Zoom worship will open at 9:00am. From 9am to 9:30am, the worship space will be open for folks to gather and get settled in. Our worship service will begin at 9:30am. Full details on how to join our online worship are found here.

  • Consider placing your Advent Wreath in your sacred Zoom worship space so that we can share them with one another. We will light the Advent Wreath candles toward the beginning of each worship service in Advent.

Use this form to request your reservation for In-Person Christmas Eve worship. Because we are limited on space, please provide as many options as would work for your household. This is NOT a reservation. If you only provide one option, we may not be able to confirm your request. If you can’t access the online form, call the HUMC church office and ask for Laura: 503-640-1775.


If we're able to confirm your request, Hillsboro United Methodist will contact you by Tuesday, Dec 21 and let you know which service will have space for you.

Celebrate the season with carols!

We will be gathering adult socks for the houseless to donate to Greater Good NW

Please donate new socks only. 

To help with a successful collection of socks, we encourage everyone to share this event on their personal social media: FaceBook, Instagram, etc.

Bring your mask, socks to donate, and wear your best ugly holiday sweater. We will provide lyric sheets for anyone who would like to join in singing. For those planning to sing, please wear your mask and observe social distancing protocols. Family friendly event!

 

Reconciling in Christ Book Study 

The Reconciling in Christ team invites you to join us in a book study. We are reading David P. Gushee's book, Changing Our Mind (Definitive 3rd Edition).

This is a thought-provoking book by distinguished Christian ethicist, pastor, and author David P. Gushee on what the bible says.

We can't pass our offering basket this Christmas season during online worship, so we encourage you to automate your end-of-year giving via this link. 
Online giving reduces staff and volunteer processing time. Electronic giving also offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis.

Fort Sam, Houston, Texas

 

Who is in your family?

Been married for 32 years to Inga.   We have two independent young women as daughters, both in Colorado.

 

What is your occupation or favorite hobby?

I work for Intel and am currently part of the sales team that sells to, and with Microsoft for edge devices.

Hobbies: drums, quilting, woodworking, leather crafting, reading

How did you find ChristChurch?

We found ChristChurch through Inga looking up all the ELCA churches around us and going to them.  One of our last stops was “the warehouse church”.

 

The pandemic has been tough for all of us and tragic for some. Are there silver linings from the pandemic you’d like to share?

Under normal conditions, I probably would have had to move to Seattle. With the pandemic, people are scattered and it proved that folks can work from anywhere.

 

What are you looking forward to?

Our country putting our racist fascism behind us and resuming working on equality and climate. Dancing too.

 

Is there a Bible verse that speaks to you right now?

Psalm 23:4, “walk through the valley of death…
