Now accepting nominations for Church Council

Do you know someone you think would be great in a leadership role at ChristChurch? We are accepting nominations for a 2 year term for the Church Council.

What does the Council do?

The Council serves the needs of the congregation by taking care of business items, reviews financials and has ‘big picture’ discussion on our mission and vision. Laughter, relationship building and biblical work are also a big part of each meeting.

What’s the time commitment for being part of the Council?

The Council meets in person once a month on a weeknight for about 2.5 hours. They stay in touch via email throughout the month as needed.

How do I nominate someone?

Forms are available in the Commons. Nomination forms must be received by the church office at noon on Sunday, April 29th.

Save the date! Our Annual Congregation Meeting is set for Sunday, June 10th after worship.

Prayer Request

Emily Litterer is leading a conference this weekend through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship called OPAT, Our Place At the Table. She is asking for intercessory prayer from anyone at church that may want to.

The mission for OPAT is as follows:

To develop influential white students in their ethnic identity and cross cultural skills. We believe the core of the Gospel is reconciliation and the Jesus’ vision for church is a multiethnic body of believers. Because of the sin of white supremacy, the imago dei of white people has been tainted by undue power and privilege that keeps them from living into the full freedom that comes with an identity in Christ. Of the many bi-products one is often they are under-resourced to partner with Jesus in his mission, and often actually cause trauma to their brothers and sisters of color. We want the white students of the Northwest to better understand their role and holy calling as white people in Jesus’ kingdom. In the name of Jesus, we want to clarify, give vision and resource white students to take their place at the table of reconciliation, justice and peace.

Prayers for Emily, her fellow leaders and for the mission of OPAT.
