Nominations for Church Council
Do you know someone you think would be great in a leadership role at ChristChurch? Beginning on April 8th we are accepting nominations for a 2 year term for the Church Council.
This year our council consists of five members (six including Pastor David.)
Of those five, two members, Sarah Wilkinson and Council President Denise DeMarre, still have one more year to fulfill their first two-year term. The remaining three will have completed their two-year terms by the end of June. One of those members, Jill Bierman, has served two consecutive terms and is therefore ineligible to serve again until June of 2019. The other two members, Rich Radford and Michael Gross are eligible to be nominated to serve a second term.
Our constitution allows for a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 council members, so we are looking for 3 to 8 nominees for the 2018 slate.
What does the Council do?
The Council serves the needs of the congregation by taking care of business items, reviews financials and has ‘big picture’ discussion on our mission and vision. Laughter, relationship building and biblical work are also a big part of each meeting.
What’s the time commitment for being part of the Council?
The Council meets in person once a month on a weeknight for about 2.5 hours. They stay in touch via email throughout the month as needed.
How do I nominate someone?
Forms will be available in the Commons after worship starting Sunday, April 8th. Nomination forms must be received by noon on Sunday, April 29th.
Save the date! Our Annual Congregation Meeting is set for Sunday, June 10th after worship.
