Message for the day:
What Comes Around
Must Go Around

Gospel Reading for this Sunday:

Final Sunday of our Summer Preaching Series

This is the last Sunday of our Summer Preaching Series. So it's your last chance to stay after worship for prayer and conversation on the book. We will be reflecting and discussing Chapter Twelve: What Comes Around Must Go Around.

Read the discussion questions on
p. 147, samples below:

"[Jesus]...knew we had to hand the message over before we really understood it or could appreciate it ourselves"(p.107). When have you taught someone something and wound up learning more than you taught?

"Until we have found our own ground and connection to the Whole, we are all unsettled and grouchy"(p.113). What caused these feelings? How could a connection with "the Whole" make a difference at such times?

Don't forget - Audio sermons, PowerPoints and Bible readings from the series are available online here.
Memorial Service for George Reed

ChirstChurch will be holding a memorial service for George Reed. George was the father of congregation member Linda Lusky. Please join us for a service of remembrance on Saturday, August 13th from 11am to 12:30pm.

In order to make sure these young people get their backpacks in time for school we are asking to please donate all supplies by Sunday, August 21st.

We will assemble the backpack kits
after worship that Sunday.

As we explore what it means to worship a God who loves us (and all people) without limits, we will also explore what it means to move towards loving all our neighbors, in all their differences and diversity without limits.

The first installment in the Love Without Limits series will
be loving people of all abilities without limits. It will run
from September 11th through the 25th. Guests will include Rev. Michael De Witt, congregational liaison for Bethesda Lutheran Communities and Rev. Mary Peterson, a pastor
with cerebral palsy. Together we will explore ways to be more welcoming to people of all abilities in our faith community.

Join us at Community of ChristChurch on Friday evening, September 16th, beginning at 6:30pm, for the first event in a series entitled, Movies that Matter.

Each month we will gather for a potluck supper and watch a film that matters to one of the group. Then, the person who picked the film will start off the conversation. If all goes well, we’ll talk a little about the film, a little about life, and a lot about what matters. Jason Wilkinson, filmmaker/film buff, and David Eppelsheimer, pastor/nerd will serve as facilitators for the discussion.

To kick off the series, we will be watching a movie that matters to Jason. Copyright rules stipulate that we cannot advertise the name of the film, so you’ll just have to be surprised!

What you’ll need to participate…
Be at least 17 years old,

A potluck dish to share.
A love of movies!

What you won’t need…
A bigger boat (maybe)
A shark proof cage
(are those hints?)

Hope to see you there! RSVP here.

- Jason and David
