We will be reading and discussing:
One Coin Found by Emmy Kegler

Find a copy with your local bookseller here.

 After worship
March 1st through April 5th

The stories of Scripture are for everyone. No exceptions.

Emmy Kegler has a complicated relationship with the Bible. As a queer woman who grew up in both conservative Evangelical and progressive Protestant churches, she knows too well how Scripture can be used to wound and exclude. And yet, the stories of Scripture continue to captivate and inspire her--both as a person of faith and as a pastor to a congregation. So she set out to fall in love with the Bible, wrestling with the stories inside, where she met a God who continues to seek us out--appearing again and again as a voice, a presence, and a promise.

Whenever we are pushed to the edges, our voices silenced, or our stories dismissed, God goes out after us--seeking us until we are found again. And God is seeking out those whose voices we too quickly silence and dismiss, too. Because God's story is a story of welcome and acceptance for everyone--no exceptions.

Kegler shows us that even when we feel like lost and dusty coins--rusted from others' indifference, misspent and misused--God picks up a broom and sweeps every corner of creation to find us.

Please join us this Sunday after worship for discussion of the forward and the introduction.

Faith In Practice Fundraiser

From congregation member Eileen Gross:

Dear friends and family,

In March I will once again be traveling to Antigua, Guatemala to serve on a general surgery team with the Christian Ministry Faith In Practice.   I have had the privilege to serve as the pre op nurse for this team for 3 years and have experienced first-hand the life changing effects of the medical work provided for these patients.  As a person of faith who has volunteered as a nurse in our local area for many years, I also feel compelled to reach beyond our borders to serve those who are much less fortunate.

With your help, together we can bring healing to those in need in Guatemala.

As a volunteer, I will completely cover the costs for my personal travel and stay in Guatemala. However, team members are asked to assist in raising donations to fund expenses that are not covered by our trip fees - things like medicines, medical testing, supplies, patient care and transportation and operational and administrative costs - to make this mission possible.  I invite you to join me in serving the Guatemalan population who lives in extreme poverty and has virtually no access to medical care by making a donation of any amount to Faith In Practice.

Thank you, muchas gracias, for sharing this mission with me! Donate here

Know anyone that might want a free piano?

This piano has been well loved for many many years and is now residing in our gym closet. It's in rough shape. One of the keys sticks. Several key are chipped. The finish is cracked, maybe repainted, dinged up. No bench.'s super solid and maybe has some value for someone who will appreciate it or wants an old piano in their living room. Email if you have a lead. Here is the listing on

Lenten Global Service Project 2020: Baby Care Kits

We are collecting items March 1st through Easter, April 12th.

Baby Care kits are shipped to countries where women in poverty bring babies into a world with little or nothing to care for them. These kits will contain basics like blankets for warmth and soap to keep baby clean.

We will have a packaging party after worship to get the kits ready for shipment (date TBA). Leave items in the Commons starting March 1st. Thanks to Shirley Dinger for leading us again! Pick up a flyer with items needed in the commons.
