Summer Preaching S
eries

Stay after worship for prayer and conversation on the book. Pastor David will be leading us in reflecting and discussing Chapter Seven - Why Do I Need to Ask?

Read the discussion questions on
p. 142, samples below:

"We ask not to change God but to change ourselves. We pray to form a living relationship, not to get things done"(p.60). How have your prayers changed throughout your life?

"Life is a gift, totally given to you without cost"(p.65). What will it take for you to see everything as a gift and be grateful with your life?

Don't forget - Audio sermons, PowerPoints and Bible readings from the series are available online here.

Our contemplative practice after worship this Sunday will be walking the labyrinth. Cindy Kinnie will provide some background and instruction for this ancient practice.

If you are interested in participating, please come prepared to remove your shoes before stepping onto the canvas.

Disaster Sanitation -
What to do with Pee and Poo?

Geologists predict a Cascadia Subduction Zone megaquake in the Pacific Northwest.

Governments and households are considering the consequences:
  • What are we going to do when the toilets don’t work?
  • What’s going to happen to sewer infrastructure?
  • Do we have the knowledge and materials we need to build safe, functional household and multi-household toilet systems?
  • Shouldn’t we plan now for more resilient sanitation systems?
Jeff Holiman from Phlush (Public Hygiene Lets Us Stay Human) will be sharing with us the answers to these questions and more. For more on Phlush go here.
