A group called IMIrJ (Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice) has been successful in forming a cohort of faith communities in the Portland area to come together to learn about the issues and discern how their congregations might be able to work together to respond to the needs of our immigrant community. Sanctuary is so much more than a physical space for someone to go.
