A Post Election Invitation to Community
No matter how we are feeling about the outcome of the presidential election last Tuesday, it is clear that we are a deeply divided nation. With that division come feelings of anxiety, grief and fear for many of us. In our church council meeting last night, we reflected with one another about the mood of the nation and how we are all feeling personally. We agreed that offering opportunities to be community together in the midst of these difficult times is a big part of who God is calling us to be.
So, to anyone who is feeling the need for community right now, following this election, you are all invited, young and old, to a potluck dinner this Sunday, November 13th at 6:30pm at Community of ChristChurch (5170 NW Five Oaks Drive, Hillsboro, 97124 - next to the DEQ!)
This will simply be an opportunity to sit together, listen to each other’s stories, share a meal and quiet prayer... to affirm that we can still be community together, all of us.
All are welcome. Bring your friends, bring your family... invite anyone you'd like. It will be a safe place for all people, no matter what you believe, who you love, or where your people come from in the world.
Peace,
Pastor David

The primary way to prepare for the unknown is to attend to the quality of our relationships, to how well we know and trust one another."
