Hillsboro Reads 2017
Earlier this year we read
America's Original Sin together. A great opportunity to learn more about similar topics is available through the Hillsboro Reads program.
About the program this year:
Now in its third year, Hillsboro Reads aims to build a stronger community through reading and discussion. We believe that the community that opens the same book closes it in greater harmony. Hillsboro Reads continues to positively impact the community by increasing interactions based on a shared reading experience, celebrating reading for pleasure, and promoting intergenerational and cross-cultural discussion. Events surrounding The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore will start conversations on race, education, opportunity, and bias. At the same time, participants will discover ways to build stronger community ties through volunteerism—a message Moore is eager to promote throughout his book.
We have a full program of events, starting with a Keynote Address by author and poet Donovan Livingston on Saturday, September 30. Books can be checked out at your local library.
