Church Council Meeting Reminder!

Wednesday, September 13th at 6:30pm

Our Church Council will be meeting this coming Wednesday, September 13th. Please keep the Council in your prayers. And remember, Church Council meetings are open to all!

Contact Information and Communications Survey

ChristChurch is in the beginning phases of switching our Church online directory. This Sunday and next there will be a survey available after Worship to fill out. This information will help us in creating and updating the new online directory.

Additionally, ChristChurch communicates through many different methods. We want to know which methods are most effective in passing on information to you. On the backside of the contact information there will be a place to fill in your communications preferences and offer ideas.

The whole thing should take about 5 minutes to fill out. Thanks for your help!

Hillsboro Reads 2017

Earlier this year we read America's Original Sin together. A great opportunity to learn more about similar topics is available through the Hillsboro Reads program.

About the program this year:

Now in its third year, Hillsboro Reads aims to build a stronger community through reading and discussion. We believe that the community that opens the same book closes it in greater harmony. Hillsboro Reads continues to positively impact the community by increasing interactions based on a shared reading experience, celebrating reading for pleasure, and promoting intergenerational and cross-cultural discussion. Events surrounding The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore will start conversations on race, education, opportunity, and bias. At the same time, participants will discover ways to build stronger community ties through volunteerism—a message Moore is eager to promote throughout his book.

We have a full program of events, starting with a Keynote Address by author and poet Donovan Livingston on Saturday, September 30. Books can be checked out at your local library.

What you’ll need to participate…

Be at least 17 years old, bring a potluck dish to share and a love of movies!

Here's some hints about the movie:

- Best Picture Nominee for 2017 Academy Awards

- Rotten Tomatoes says: In heartwarming, crowd-pleasing fashion, (this movie) celebrates overlooked -- and crucial -- contributions from a pivotal moment in American history.

RSVP and share with friends on Meetup.com for free here!

Congregational Vitality Survey Available Online

Thank you to everyone that filled out the survey. Here’s your last chance! We want your voice to be heard. Please go to this link and fill out the survey by Tuesday, September 12th.
