Hello, Corinth Families!

Does everyone have cabin fever? Hopefully the weather will hold off this week so we can actually go to school!!

Here's what you can do to support Corinth this month....
* Buy tickets for the March 2nd auction by Feb. 15th and become a Friend of Corinth for early party bidding.  www.bidpal.net/corinthauction
* Sign up to bring a meal to the meals on wheels live auction winner  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c084fa9ab2fa6fb6-meals
* Bring in your box tops by February 25th
Please consider volunteering! We're still looking for two co-chairs to coordinate the Fall Fundraising Campaign. The co-chairs are responsible for soliciting donations from parents as well as coordinating the Parent Parties in the Fall. Please let me know if you are interested or know of someone that may be a great fit.

Here's what's happening:

  • Feb 14: Valentines Day Parties - 2:15 p.m.
  • Feb 18: No School - President's Day
  • Feb 19: No School - Professional Learning

Have a great week!

Corinth Auction - Purchase Tickets Now!

The time is now to purchase your tickets for the upcoming Corinth Auction!  Taking place on March 2 at Milburn Country Club, this not-to-miss event benefits Corinth Elementary AND YOUR KIDDOS directly! RSVP by THIS FRIDAY by visiting  www.bidpal.net/corinthauction to purchase your tickets and register your credit card information for purchases the night of the auction. It’s a great night out and supports our Dragons!

While on the auction website, don’t forget to become a Friend of Corinth for access to early bidding! With your tax-deductible donation of $100, you will be granted early access to the parent and kids parties offered through the auction. These unique, limited attendee parties always sell out so be sure to become a Friend of Corinth for VIP access to parties. Friends of Corinth will receive an email a week before the auction to start your bidding for the parties! New this year, we are also offering Grandparents of Corinth - for those grandparents wanting to financially support Corinth and not able to attend the event! Send them the link to make their contribution online or they can send a check made out to Corinth PTA to the Corinth office!

Help Still Needed!  We are under a month away and there are still some needs to fill!

  • Sign up to bring a meal for the winner of the Meals on Wheels live auction item.

  • 3rd & 4th Grade Parents - we are still collecting donations as part of your grade level auction basket. You can Venmo a monetary donation or drop it off at the office marked for your grade auction basket donation

  • Get your teacher treat forms turned in soon!

  • Volunteer sign ups will also be going out soon to help the day of the auction! Look for updates on the Auction Facebook page!

Do you know where our PTA funds go?

The Corinth Elementary PTA raises money throughout the year to give our students access to services/programs that they wouldn't normally get through the district. We truly appreciate your donations that help fund the following programs/services throughout the year:

  • Social worker
  • Makerspace/STEM education
  • Math aide
  • Grants for the teachers to buy educational tools for their classrooms
  • Fields trips for every grade level
  • Yearbook for every student
  • PBIS Student Awards
  • Subscriptions to educational magazines for the classrooms
  • Teacher appreciation
  • Garden maintenance
  • And much more!!
Makerspace Update
Our PTA is committed to continuing the growth for our students and teachers in the Makerspace. We have partnered with STEAM Studio ( http://steam-studio.com) and will be providing an on-site experience for each individual classroom at the STEAM Studio in Westport, located in the Gould Evans Architecture Firm. While the students are on site they will be emerged in STEAM activities based on a connection to individual SMSD classroom curriculum and real world application of Design Thinking. The students will be engaged in hands-on, meaningful activities and our teachers will have the opportunity to see it all in action and get ideas for things they can do in their classrooms here at Corinth Elementary! Our PTA will continue to allocate funds to support our teachers and their professional development in this area. Please take a minute to check out the link above and see all the amazing things STEAM Studio is doing for education in our community!!!
Winter Box Tops for Education Drive
(Now--February 25th)

It’s time to start turning in Box Tops for Education! This is a super easy way to help the Corinth Community. Simply look for the Box Tops for Education coupon on the products you use, clip it, and put it in a ziploc bag. Send the bag to the Corinth Office with the name of your child, grade and teacher. The class with the highest participation by February 25th wins an extra recess from Mr. Lowe.  Also, all students who bring in any number of Box Tops will be entered for a drawing for a $10 Foo's Gift Card. We will select three winners!

Box Tops is also a great way that grandparents and other family members can support our kids, so be sure to ask others if they can help, too. If you miss turning in your Box Tops by the February 25th deadline, do not worry! We will count any late arrivals toward next year's drive. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jill Fraley at jillfraley@gmail.com.
