Hello, Corinth Families!

School is here! First day of school is this Friday, August 10 for grades 1 through 6. Friday will be an early dissmisal day. First day for Kindergartners is August 14th.

Don't forget about the 
Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 8th at 5:00. Incoming kindergarteners will meet their teachers in the cafeteria and sign up for a kindergarten conference. Students in 1st- 6th grade can meet their teachers in their classrooms from 5:00-5:30 and bring school supplies to their room. After meeting teachers, feel free to join us on the playground for ice cream. Also, don't forget to bring your checkbook. Spirit Wear will be available for purchase.

School Supplies

Pre-ordered school supplies
If you pre-ordered school supplies, kits will be available for pick-up at Corinth at the following dates and times in the gym.  Here is a listing of families who purchased a supply kit{s} and what grade/boy/girl they purchased that will need to pick up their supplies.

  • Monday, August 6th - 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 7th - 11 a.m. –  1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 8th - 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. 
    {ice cream social/supply drop off 5-6 p.m.}

If you are unable to pick up during these scheduled times, please contact Rachael Rider at  rrider@travois.com to coordinate another pick-up time. Kits not picked up during one of the times above will no longer be left in the office for pick-up.

School supply lists are available  here for families who did not purchase pre-packaged kits. Lists are organized by grade, for boys or girls and notes which items need to be labeled. Kindergarten parents; be sure to label every crayon, pencil and marker – not just the box. 6th grade parents, your Dragon will label items at school. Everyone in between, see items with a * to label.

New Families

Are you new to the Corinth Elementary community? Do you need help figuring out what a Dragon Dad is or how to navigate the car line? It isn't always easy learning the acronyms used at a new school or where you can turn to for information. We've tried to make it easier for our new families by giving you a contact. Mandy Starr will help answer your questions or point you in the right direction when she can't.

Fall Fundraising Parties

Donate to support our PTA including our Social Worker, Math Specialist, field trips, Maker’s Space and more!

A donation of $125 per child is suggested. Donations of all sizes are sincerely appreciated! Watch for an Invitation & Donation Envelope two weeks prior to the party. Checks should be made out to Corinth PTA. These are casual, adult only events to reconnect with old friends, and to meet new ones! Many thanks to this year’s party hosts!

2019 Corinth Auction

Save the Date and Get Ready for the 2019 Auction
It's an auction year!  Did you know that the Corinth Auction is our school's primary fundraiser? The funds raised by this event help cover educational programs that are not funded by state or district budgets. This year's event will help fund a part-time school counselor - which we have not had in our building in over five years. It will also continue to help fund our math aide, Maker Space, and other services that help our staff continue to provide educational excellence for our children.
 
So...how can you help? There are several opportunities to get involved and help this event be a success:
  • Do you own or work for a company that would be interested in advertising to the Corinth community throughout the year?  Check out our corporate sponsorship levels  here and get in contact with  Sheila Weaver to learn more.  New this year, there is an opportunity to sponsor BOTH the auction and Dragon Dash at one time....don't limit your promotion - have it run all year through!
  • Do you have connections to get items that would make great items to bid on or do you want to help us gather items to bid on the night of the auction? Get in touch with our  donations committee to see how you can get involved.
  • Be on the lookout for information on the upcoming parent parties and how you can start contributing to the auction the evening of your party!!
Finally, make sure you are a member of the  Corinth Auction Facebook page to get all of the updates and of course, mark your calendar and plan to join us on Saturday, March 2 at Milburn Country Club for a great evening with friends raising funds to support Corinth!

Looking for Committee Chairs

We're still looking to fill two chair positions. We need a volunteer to coordinate the Skating Parties as well as a chair for the Talent Show. If interested, please contact Leanne Beezley. If we don't find chairs soon, these events may not be able to happen. Please help out if you can!!

Staff Appreciation

We can’t wait to adorn our hard working teachers and staff this year with special monthly treats! The Staff Appreciation Committee is in charge of providing the following to our amazing staff:

  • Back to school breakfast during teacher in-service on Thursday 9th *** You can sign up to help right here:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080849a8ac23a2f49-back
  • Chalk the sidewalk for the 1st day of school & 1st day of Kindergarten (7pm Thursday 9th and Monday 13th)
  • Lunches 4 times a year (back to school, Holiday lunch, Spring lunch and Teacher Appreciation week)
  • Winter cookie exchange
  • Birthday treats for the staff
  • Special drinks and snack during Parent Teacher Conferences and special busy days!

And all you have to do is sign up to help bring food items!  This is a great way to contribute to your child’s school without having to donate your time!  If your on our list we will ask for you to bring items 4-6 a year, which can be as simple as a bag of apples or as elaborate as homemade cookies or crockpot taco meat.
