Week of October 24-28, 2016
Hello Corinth Families!

Fall is here! In our house, that means too many leaves to clean out of the gutters, outdoor soccer season is coming to a close, and finishing touches are being put on Halloween costumes. Hope you are all enjoying your own version of fall!

Your to-do list for this week:
* Volunteeer for a shift at the Scholastic Book Fair Nov 7-10.
* Can you help either with grant writing or Veteran's Day?

Thanks!

Items Still Needed for 2nd, 4th and 5th Grade Auction Baskets

The Donation Committee will accept any donation, but here are some simple ideas of what you can contribute to your child’s grade basket{s}. Feel free to drop it off at Jenn Miller’s home { 8912 Wenonga, milk box on porch}, or in the office with a note {“ auction – grade”}. Contact Trisha Sims or Jenn Miller with questions.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Parents, Election Day is Nov. 8! Our PTA is non-partisan, and we do encourage you to vote!

To learn more about the candidates who are running to represent you locally (House District 19, Senate District 7),and where they stand on the issues, please see here.

Follow-up to October 1, 2016 SMAC East-area Legislative Candidates' Forum: A video-recording of the entire 90-minute forum, which featured questions from the moderator and the audience, is posted on SMAC's Youtube channel. See it here

Please mark your calendars: November 14, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., we'll be hosting a Legislative Affairs discussion here at Corinth! Both our state representative and senate seats are up for election, so we'll be joined by the winners, as well as Ms. Mary Fox Sinclair, our SMAC Legislative Affairs Chair. This is a terrific chance to meet your representative and senator up close and learn more about education policy, how our state legislature really works, or anything else you've been wanting to learn!

Please contact me with any questions, comments or ideas! Jessica Marien, PTA Legislative Chair (202-210-7398 or email)
