Watch this video to answer any questions you may have and provide you with a tutorial for the night of the event - Happy viewing!

The auction wouldn't be possible without volunteers. Whether you have a kindergartener, 6th grader or any age of Dragon, please consider helping out! Here are three simple ways:

  • Make a meal for Meals on Wheels: this live auction item provides dinner to the winner every week during the 2017/18 school year, but we need cooks! Simply pick a date and make two of what you're eating that night. username: Corinth, password: Dragons2016. Link here.
  • Volunteers are needed the day of the auction to transport items from Leawood to Milburn Country Club, set up décor, assist with check-in and check-out, etc. Link here.
  • We are excited to again offer a 6 months of date night package as one of our live auction items this year. To make this even better, we offer the winning bidder options for babysitters. We are looking for 6-12 Dragons or former Dragons who would be willing to volunteer their time. If you feel more comfortable signing up with a friend, please do. This would entail 3-4 hours of babysitting on a mutually agreed upon date with the winner. Link here.
Please consider volunteering to be a part of "The committee formally known as The Tall Oaks Committee.” The responsibilities include fundraising and planning for some special activities for your child and his or her classmates during their 6th grade year at Corinth. Traditionally this has included a couple of team building days at a challenge course, such as Tall Oaks or, most recently, Timber Ridge and some classroom parties that include all 6th grade classes together. Much of the work of this committee is done during the 5th grade year. If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please contact Margaret Chaffee.
Mark your calendars to join us for a general PTA meeting on February 16 from 11:40-12:30 in the school library. The PTA is planning to formally recognize our school winners of the Reflections and Citizenship contests.

Health and Science Night is coming March 23 from 6-7:30. We are looking for assistance in helping with or hosting booths! Contact Nicole O'Laughlin if you can help or have questions. See flyer here for more information.

Attached please find the web version of the 2017 SMSD Summer Enrichment booklet. Printed booklets should arrive at Corinth by February 17 to be sent home (one per family) no later than March 3. Enrollment begins March 20.

SMAC PTA General Meeting
- Bring Friends Contest~
Wednesday - Feb. 15 - Noon - bring your lunch and bring your friends, and we'll provide the 'smart snacks'!!!
The unit with the most attendance will receive a Sam's gift card (if a tie, we will draw)
This will be a very informative time covering 'smart snacks' -- ideas for your room parties, testing snacks, etc. SMSD Food Service Director and Nutritionist, Nancy Coughenour and Jill Funk will review Federal Guidelines and how-to's in being compliant with Smart Snacks.
Bring your room parents, your Hospitality chairs, your boards...ALL are welcome to the General Meeting.
We will also have the opportunity to hear from Linda Siek, Shawnee Mission - National Education Association Rep and Liz Meitl, working with the district in cultural competency and character education. They will share information regarding collaborations taking place between the district, NEA Shawnee Mission, and the community on education and training in civility/kindness for staff and students.

Big thanks to Stephanie Cherra for organizing and running the Used Book Sale this past week! And, thanks to all who donated and bought books!
