1. Attend the Cyber Security Presentation, Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Corinth PTA is proud to present Jeff Lanza, former FBI agent, who will be speaking about cyber security to our 3rd-6th grade students during the day, and to the parents at night. We request, however, that you do not bring students to the presentation at 7 p.m.

Corinth PTA NEWS:

Makerspace Information

Your Dragons may be talking about a Makerspace because Mr. Lowe has proposed creating a Makerspace at Corinth, and has asked the PTA to fund it.

Over the coming months, he will be creating a team to visit some other Makerspaces around the area. Mr. Lowe has challenged interested Dragons to write an essay if they want to be on the committee. If you are interested in helping, or know a member of the community who might be able to help, please contact Mr. Lowe .

In the mean time, if you are looking for something to do over the break, why not visit a new MakerSpace at the Johnson County Central Resource Library to see what it's all about!

Volunteer Opportunities

***Recycling in the Cafeteria - until Spring Break Corinth is excited to be bringing back our Recycling and Composting program. Mrs. Molteni's 4th grade class has been covering the lunchroom dismissal/ tray clearing/ sorting task this week. And now we need parents to take over. Don’t worry! It really is not difficult, and mostly involves pointing/ directing more than touching any food or getting dirty.

If you are coming to Corinth to have lunch with your Dragon, we would love a little extra help, to help our Dragons help the Earth! SIGN UP HERE.

***Corinth Garden - Summer Watering
The Corinth Garden will need water this summer! SIGN UP HERE to help out.

SMSD NEWS:

Community Invited to Forums to Discuss Sixth-Grade Configuration

A task force is reviewing grade configuration, specifically related to sixth-grade students in the Shawnee Mission School District. Superintendent Jim Hinson has engaged the task force to discuss this topic as a result of feedback and questions he received from stakeholders. To inform the review process, the task force will hold community forums in each of the five geographic high school feeder areas. Task force members are charged with researching the issue, gathering input from the community, and sharing resulting recommendations with the superintendent. No decisions or recommendations for change have been made at this time. All discussion would center on potential implementation during the 2018-2019 school year at the earliest. Task force members will research and share information at community forums regarding the many aspects to be considered. Each forum is open to all community members. The schedule of meetings, all of which are scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at each location, is as follows:

  • March 10: Indian Hills Middle School
  • March 21: Indian Woods Middle School
  • March 24: Westridge Middle School
