PTA NEWS
DIRECTORY

Don't forget to folloow the link in your email from Scott William to update your directory, (even if just with your child's teacher), join the PTA, volunteer and more! Questions or problems, contact Scott William.
Parent Parties!
These fun adult-only events are a great way to connect with parents in your child's grade, and are one of our main annual fundraising activities. Parents should look for an evite and/or an invitation and donation envelope to come home via backpack mail (approximately 2 weeks before the party).

Suggested donation is $125 per student, but all donations are sincerely appreciated. The goal this year is to have 50% of Corinth families participate at some level.
Please be sure to put your child's name/grade level on your donation so we can track our progress better!

You may take your donation to the party, or send it in via backpack mail in the donation envelope. As of now, the 3rd grade parents may pay the suggested donation online through your directory account (go to the directory, select the PTA section, and look for the option to pay for parent parties). More online options to come soon!

Many thanks to our hosts this year!! Check the upcoming events section for dates and hosts.
Any questions, contact Michelle Schmidt.

NURSE NOTES

Hello from Nurse Albert’s health room!

Welcome to the new 2016-17 school year; we are off and running! No significant news from my corner of the world (which no news usually means good news as far as health goes!) Just a couple reminders about some new policies:

Attendance: Please see attachment for the new SMSD elementary attendance guidelines. New this year for all elementary schools:

  • Students who arrive between 8:10 and 8:45 will be entered in Skyward as tardy AM. Students leaving school between 2:15 and 3:10 will be counted as TARDY PM.
  • Students who arrive after 8:45 am will be excused but counted absent for AM period.
  • An accumulation of 10 tardies will result in 1 unexcused absence.
  • If a student is going to be absent for an extended period that is not an SMSD approved reason, please email the principal, Chris Lowe, so that that it can be approved and documented as 1 lump absence rather than an accumulated amount.
  • Any prolonged illness that extends beyond 5 days will need a dr. note for it to be an excused lump absence.

Please contact Mr. Lowe or myself if you have any questions and thank you for your continued support!

DID YOU KNOW?
MATCHING DONATIONS

Keep in mind that many generous companies offer a matching gift/donation program that either match dollar for dollar or a % of the total if the donation is to a 501(c)(3) organization and that organization can provide a receipt. Our Corinth PTA qualifies, and we can provide a receipt for you! Please consider taking advantage of these programs and increase the impact of your donations to the Corinth PTA. To request a receipt or ask questions, contact Sarah Casey.
Peachjar
Ever wonder where those Peachjar flyers go? Did you know there is a repository, in which you can look at them again? Click here to find them!
Do you know any new Corinth families? Please forward this email to them! They can CLICK HERE to sign up to receive future Corinth PTA emails.
