Week of April 11-15, 2016
Hello Corinth Families!

As we are rounding the corner toward May, there is still a lot to do! We have lots of events on the horizon, and their success depends on our amazing volunteers. Please take a look below to see all the various opportunities for you to help make Corinth a great school. And speaking of which, you might want to take a peak at the Corinth News section below - Corinth just won the Governor's Achievement Award!

I hope to see you on Tuesday at Culver's. Have a great week!

Erin Herbst
PTA President

2. Walk or Bike To School on Wednesday

The Walking and Biking Wednesdays program encourages all students to walk or ride their bike to school at least four times per semester. The program promotes healthy habits, reduces traffic congestion, boosts our sense of community and encourages our cities to provide safe routes to school. Our Spring walking dates are April 6, 13, 20, 27, and May 4.

One responsibility of the program is to provide a Walking School Bus for students who may not live within walking distance of the school. Our walking school bus provides two bus stop locations, one at Leawood Presbyterian Church and the other at 3508 West 89th Street. We rely on volunteers to lead the walking school bus and ensure our students have a safe route to school.

We still need many volunteers to make this safe and successful for all our Dragons. Volunteering is easy - especially if you are already planning on walking with your student.
3. Friday: Lace Up Your Roller Skates

Join other Corinth Families from 12-2 p.m. at Skate City (10440 Mastin, OP) for some skating fun! See FLYER for more details.

We have so many opportunities to help the Corinth community: Weekdays, weekends, before, during and after school. Please take a look!

1. This Wednesday Morning (and every Wednesday until May 4): WALKING SCHOOL BUS

2. Saturday, April 30: Dragon Dash
Please Volunteer for Dragon Dash! It takes many hands to make this a safe and fun experience for all. Please consider volunteering. Why not ask Grandma and Grandpa or Aunts and Uncles to come join the fun! Visit the volunteer tab on the race website. We need lots of course monitors. Grab a cup of coffee and a camp chair and cheer our Dragons along the way. VOLUNTEER FOR DRAGO N DASH (click on "Volunteer" tab on left hand side of the page).

3. Monday, May 2: We need four volunteers to work at the Shawnee Mission Clothing Center ( 4401 W 103rd St) on May 2 from 8:30 - 11 a.m.. We have coffee/water/snacks. Volunteers can be families, grandparents, aunts, uncles and neighbors. Contact Erin Herbst.

4. Thursday, May 12: Field Day (Rainout will be Friday, May 13)
4th and 5th Grades 9:00-11:15, Kindergarten – 12:30–2:00; 1st – 3rd Grades 12:45-2:45. As with previous years, 6th graders will help coordinate the event. However, we will still need lots of parent volunteers to prep and manage stations at the event. Please sign up to assist with either a morning or afternoon session, or both! VOLUNTEER FOR FIELD DAY

Any questions, please contact MAUREEN SCHWARTZ
