Do You Have An Eye
For Film?

Greetings!
,

There's something special about the skill & art of film photography.

More and more serious photographers are returning to film for at least some of their shooting.

The problem these days is getting professional quality developing and printing.

Believe-it-or-not drug stores and retail outlets are actually throwing out photographers' negatives! Instead, they return a "free" Picture CD. From their corporate standpoint, this makes good sense. Consumers (note that we didn't say photographers) can order prints from drug store kiosks.

Why this new "industry practice" is close to criminal:
  • Consumer-grade Picture CDs are far less than archival. Exposure to light or handling scratches may make your CDs unreadable.
    • Negatives will keep for over 100 years.
    • Those negatives are...or at least should be...your property. What level of gall allows them to be thrown away?
  • The low resolution of consumer CDs will only produce reasonably sharp prints up to 8" x 10", while your negatives can easily make great enlargements to 20" x 30".
  • If this is how they treat your film, how good do you think their printing will be?

We still offer professional processing for all 35mm & 120 film:
  • Careful developing of your C-41, E-6 or B&W films.
  • Negatives are returned to you, cut and archivally sleeved.
  • Individual color correction by a skilled technician.
  • Your prints are made on Kodak's premium and professional papers (not consumer-grade paper.)
  • Dale Picture CDs are a great option. Just check a box on our mailer (or ask at our store) to request CDs when you have your film developed.
Our Picture CDs allow you to:
    • Order reprints and small enlargements online (up to 8" x 12") at our iPrints site or through ROES. You'll get the same sharp pictures as we give you directly from film.
      • We recommend using your color negatives when you want larger prints, from 11" x 14" to 20" x 30".
    • Make prints on our lab store's Picture Maker kiosks if you live in South Florida.
    • Transfer your film images to Facebook, social media & cell phones.

Why Do We Keep Providing Pro Level Film Processing When Everyone Else is Dumbing Their Services Down? Our mission is simple; to make your photography better.
