Impact Denver Class of 2011 Class Project Takes Root
When Impact Denver '11 graduated last year, the class decided on two class projects, including "Gardening for Growth," a gardening project with Mile High Montessori. The alumni involved in launching this program have successfully secured grant funding from Whole Foods' Whole Kids Foundation, and they received 200 seed packets and more than 120 small plants from Denver Urban Gardens.

This month, on June 1 and June 8, the group, which is led by Alana Berland and Bryan McKae, will be planting gardens at four Mile High Montessori schools, helping to instill the importance of healthy eating to students. The group chose to work at the schools on Friday afternoons so that students can watch the progress.

We look forward to learning more about the success of "Gardening 4 Growth," and stay tuned for an update on Impact Denver '11's other class project!
