Fall Forum Speakers Announced

Five alumni—Kimball Crangle & Rick Petersen, Chris Herndon, Rebecca Holmes and Jamie Van Leeuwen—will share how they "changed the game" in their communities at the Fall Forum on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Embassy Suites, in four fast-paced presentations. Denver Metro Chamber Building Remodel Begins Dec. 12

The Denver Metro Chamber building at 1445 Market St. will undergo a complete remodel to better suit our members' needs and create a collaborative, innovative environment that reflects the Chamber's brand, history and impact on the community. The Leadership Foundation, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and its other affiliates will temporarily relocate to 1515 Arapahoe St., Tower 3, Suite 400 in Denver (only three blocks away). Seeking Volunteers for CLA Business Mentor Walk—Jan. 25

Business and community leaders are sought to walk with small groups college students in the Colorado Leadership Alliance to discuss careers and community leadership. You'll have an opportunity to share your background with the students and then respond to their questions around civic engagement, career strategies and the role of mentoring. Thank You for the Opportunity to Lead

I am so excited to be writing to you as the Leadership Foundation's executive director. As I told the foundation team when I met them during the executive director search, this is an exceptional and unique opportunity to work with our region's leaders and provide them the resources they need to further their civic endeavors.

Working at the University of Denver as dean emerita of the Sturm College of Law and as a professor was a wonderful experience and I look forward to this opportunity to focus on leadership development—an area where I have focused my personal passions prior to this opportunity.

I look forward to meeting you and hope that you'll mark your calendar for the Fall Forum on Dec. 4. This is an excellent opportunity to hear from five alumni and find out how they are making a difference in their communities.

As I settle into this new role, I look forward to building new relationships, getting to know our alumni and participants and hearing from you on how we can continue to provide support in your civic leadership journey.

Deadline to Propose an Impact Denver 2014 Class Project Dec. 20

The Leadership Foundation and the Impact Denver Class of 2014 invite proposals from community organizations for ideas on specific, short-term projects that could help an organization enhance its current work. Class members will be divided into teams of 10 to 15 people and will evaluate the proposed projects to determine which projects are best suited to the team members' skillset and which will have the greatest impact on the community overall. We are pleased to announce that Nashville has been selected for our 2014 Leadership Exchange, which will mark our 25th trip. This city-to-city exchange unites 150 of metro Denver's most influential civic and business leaders with those of other cities to discuss key community issues.
