On May 10 2017, the Lebanese Canadian University LCU celebrated a health day under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Ghassan Hasbani Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Public Health. The ceremony started with the signing of the Protocol Agreement between the LCU and DiaLeb.

AUCE 4th Annual Students Job Fair

On May 15, 2017 DiaLeb actively participated at AUCE Job Fair at UNESCO Palace. At our booth, we offered a free glucose testing for over 120 attendees, courtesy of OneTouch.

Carbs Counting Workshop for Master's students at LU Fanar

An advanced "Carbs counting" workshop was organised by Dialeb with the Lebanese University Faculty of Science Fanar, for master’s students in nutrition. The workshop, given by our dietitian Ms. Christelle Awkar on May 18, 2017, focused on carbohydrate counting in foods and on tips for prescribing diets at their clinics.

DiaLeb participated in the “ULS NGO Fair 2017” on the 18th of May at Sagesse University campus - Furn el Chebbak. Our “What’s Your Number” campaign continued with a glucose testing for the attendees, courtesy of OneTouch.

Al Banat El Oula School

No better way to inculcate good eating habits than visiting schools and promoting healthy lifestyle changes in children. Thus, dietitian Ms.Christelle Awkar represented DiaLeb in raising awareness at the public school "Al Banat El Oula", Tripoli on May 15, 2017.

Awareness Session at Adma International School

On May 25, 2017 DiaLeb held an awareness session for around 200 students at Adma International School. Dr. Jackie Maalouf gave an overview about DiaLeb and highlighted the importance of volunteering.

Awareness at Lycée Franco-Libanais

Because inculcating healthy lifestyle starts since childhood, Dialeb held an awareness session at “Lycée Franco-Libanais Alphonse de Lamartine”, Koura. On 5 June 2017, the dietitian, Ms. Christelle Awkar offered nutrition tips to the students to start adopting good eating habits for their optimal growth. One glucose meter courtesy of Accu-Chek was also delivered to the infirmary of the school.

Alzheimer's and Diabetes

On 11 July 2017, The Alzheimer's Association Lebanon in collaboration with the National Diabetes Organization (DiaLeb) organized the conference Alzheimer's and Diabetes at Beit El Tabib, Beirut. The President of the Alzheimer Association Dr. George Karam opened the event with an introduction about how important it is to shed the light on diabetes in the case of Alzheimer's patients.
