Dominican Sisters of Sparkill: Two New Associates Make Commitments
On November 16, 2016, the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill welcomed two new Associates to their congregation at a commitment ceremony in New York. The new Associates, Diane Dunne and Margaret Hayes, each made one-year commitments with the Dominican Sisters.
Loving
The film Loving tells the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple whose marriage was illegal in their home state of Virginia in 1959. The film leads up to their legal battle, which ended up at the US Supreme Court, to have their marriage recognized in Virginia.
Dominican Sisters of Houston: “Remember their Legacy, Building Pillars of Peace”
On December 2, 2016, the Dominican Sisters of Houston “partnered with Campaign Nonviolence to host a prayer service commemorating the anniversary of the assassinations of Sisters Ita Ford, Dorothy Kazal, Maura Clarke and Maryknoll lay missionary Jean Donovan. The concept to partner with Campaign Nonviolence surfaced when the Justice, Peace and Care of Creation Commission discussed the Nonviolence and Just Peace Conference held in Rome April 11-13, 2016 [...]”
Two Adrian Dominican Sisters Contribute to New Book on Catholic Prayer
In the recently published book, Prayer in the Catholic Tradition: A Handbook of Practical Approaches, two of the chapters were written by two Adrian Dominican Sisters. Sister Mary Catherine Nolan, O.P., wrote the chapter on “Marian Prayer,” and Sister Maribeth Howell, O.P., wrote the chapter on “Praying with the Psalms.”
Dominican Sister of Adrian Attends World Meeting of Popular Movements

“On the occasion of the 800th Jubilee year of the Dominican Order, the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids held an essay contest which was open to high school, college, and life-long learners. CD of the Mid-Kentucky Chorus Musical Tribute Honoring the 800th Jubilee of the Dominican Order Now Available
