'Adrian Dominicans Inspired by Beatification of Solanus Casey'
"About 20 Adrian Dominican Sisters and Associates were among 67,000 faithful who gathered November 18 at Ford Field in Detroit to witness a historic event: the beatification of Father Solanus Casey (1870-1957) . . . The beatification was a momentous event in Detroit – and for many Adrian Dominican Sisters and Associates who have ties to that city."
Dominican Youth Movement USA: "Nuns’ Build 2017"
"The 10th Annual Nuns’ Build took place in New Orleans last week, November 13-16. Sisters from across the United States along with their friends and families come to New Orleans for a week to help address the housing crisis left in Katrina’s wake . . . by transforming abandoned and blighted lots into affordable homes for 1st time home buyers."
Dominican Youth Movement USA: "November 2017 Youth Preaching Weekend"
The November Youth Preaching weekend included eleven students from St. Agnes Academic HS, College Point; and Albertus Magnus HS in Rockland County. The students gathered at “St. John the Baptist HS retreat Center to begin a weekend of prayer, study, and the forming of community. These students were the latest group who attended one of [DYMUSA's] youth preaching workshops.”

This film "tells the story of Christine McPherson’s 2002-2003 senior year in Catholic girls’ high school in Sacramento . . . Christine, well played by Saoirse Ronan, announces at every opportunity that she no longer wants to be called the name her parents gave her. Instead, she wishes to be called Lady Bird, a name she gives herself."
Mudbound
Mudbound is based on a novel by Hillary Jordan and "tells the story of two families, one White and one Black, living on a farm in the Mississippi Delta in the 1940’s." The film "is beautifully written and filmed by Black director Dee Rees, from the war scenes in Europe to the muddy farmland of the Delta."
