‘Dominican Sisters of Peace Pass Corporate Stance on Global Climate Change’
The Dominican Sisters of Peace have approved a corporate stance on global climate change. The sisters will “support federal and state environmental legislation that reduces carbon emissions, personally commit to actions that reduce [their] carbon footprint and collaborate with other organizations in addressing global climate change.”
Adrian Dominican Sister Sally Ormsby, O.P. Recognized for her Service
Sister Sally Ormsby, O.P. was recognized by peers and students for her service as a religion teacher to Norte Dame College Prep for nine years. During the school’s graduation ceremonies, Sister Sally was given the Rev. James d’Autremont, CSC, Award.
Dominican Young Adults USA Delegation Prepares for International Gathering
The delegation for Dominican Young Adults USA is preparing for the International Dominican Youth Movement gathering from July 26-21, 2016. The theme of this year’s meeting is “800 Years of Reasons to Celebrate.”

‘Legacy of Impact Award Given to Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose's St. Catherine's Academy’
St. Catherine’s Academy, founded by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose in 1889, was recently honored with the “Legacy of Impact” award for exceptional leadership of faculty and staff in their mission.
Aquinas Literacy Center – ‘Virginia Mercado Awarded the Sister Claudia Hinds Scholarship’
The Aquinas Literacy Center (ALC) held its annual Student Awards Celebration on June 16, 2016. Nine students graduated from the Aquinas’ English as a Second Language (ESL) program, and one of the graduates, Virginia Mercado, was awarded the Sister Claudia Hinds Scholarship.
