‘Adrian Dominican Sisters Dedicate Memorial Marker for Filipina Sisters’
On April 28, 2017, the Dominican Sisters of Adrian dedicated a memorial marker for sisters in the Our Lady of Remedies Mission Chapter (Pampanga, Philippines). “The memorial marker is testament to the close connection between the Dominican Sisters in the Philippines and the Adrian Dominican Sisters, who helped the Filipino congregation become established in 1960.”
‘Nadine Foley, OP, Former Adrian Dominican Prioress and National Leader of Women Religious, Dies at 93’
On May 13, 2017, Sister Nadine Foley, OP, former Prioress of the Adrian Dominican Sisters and former President of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), died at the age of 93. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 19, 2017, in St. Catherine Chapel.
Dominican Sisters of Peace Give $1.5 Million for PhD Program at Founded University
The Dominican Sisters of Peace have given a $1.5 million gift to Ohio Dominican University. “The gift is earmarked for the renovation of an existing on-campus building that will house the University’s proposed Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The DPT program will be the first doctoral program offered by the University.”
‘Dominican Sister of Peace Brings Hope to Trafficked Women’
Sister Nadine Buchanan, OP began helping victims of human trafficking in Columbus, OH in 2009. “[H]er ministry has moved from cooking meals with and for survivors, to the courtroom to help those in recovery, to the streets. Today, she works with women who are still in the grip of a life of sexual slavery.”

“On May 6th, with Scripture focusing on the Good Shepherd, recently installed Joseph Cardinal Tobin was welcomed at the Caldwell Motherhouse to celebrate Mass and meet [the] sisters and associates over dinner. Sister Patrice Werner, Prioress, presented Cardinal Tobin with a print of [their] stained glass Stations of the Cross designed by Sister Gerardine Mueller.”
“Aquinas Literacy Center is Movin’ on Up”
On July 1, 2017, the Aquinas Literacy Center is moving to a new location in McKinley Park, Chicago. Aquinas Literacy Center has been offering “individualized instruction in the English language to the adult immigrant population of McKinley Park and surrounding areas” of Chicago since 1996.
