Dominican Sisters of Peace: ‘At 102, Maybe It’s Time She Mended Her Ways’
A recent CBS news report stated that the number of Americans living beyond 100 is increasing. The Dominican Sisters of Peace share the story of Sr. Edwina Devlin, O.P., who will be turning 102 and how she “remains so vibrant and energized.”
Faith and Film: Sully
The film Sully tells the inspirational story of pilot Chesley (Sully) Sullenberger and his successful landing of a US Airways jet in the Hudson River in 2009. The film focuses on the hearing held by the TSA after the landing.
UN Briefing: International Day Against Nuclear Tests
Dominican Volunteer Katherine Maloney reflects on International Day against Nuclear Tests, which is on August 29th every year. “This day reaffirms the global voluntary moratorium on nuclear testing, considers the possibility for a world without nuclear tests (and, further, without nuclear weapons) and renews the call for the ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), which was first introduced in 1996.”
'Visioning Dominican Retirement'
From September 17-20, 2016, “fourteen Sisters and partners in mission gathered at the Weber Center at Adrian, MI, for the 26th Visioning Dominican Retirement meeting, a time for sharing and learning about the best care for our senior Sisters in motherhouses and care centers.”

Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt Participate in Dominican College’s Founders Week
From September 19-24, 2016, the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt participated in the Dominican College’s Annual Founders Week celebration. The Founders Week keynote address was given by Sister Kathleen McManus, O.P., and the “Living and Legacy” speech was given by Sister Mary Doris, O.P., Founder and Director of the Siena House.

Dominican Sister of Blauvelt, Dorothy Maxwell, O.P. was featured in Natural Awakenings article, “Water-Wise Kitchen: A Few Small Steps Can Make the Difference.” The article reports on the increase of water use and what we can do to conserve water.
Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa: “‘Native Voices’ Opens Dialogue with Native Americans about Earth”
On Sunday, October 22, 2016, Sinsinawa Mound will present “Native Voices: Spirit, Place, Healing, and Justice.” The presentation will “highlight the voices of those who are native to this land, giving the opportunity to listen and engage with indigenous history, current struggles, and wisdom.”
