Notes of WISDOM... for the week of: JULY 1st, 2012

Observing our SELF in Kindness

When you are in interactions with others, do you observe yourself using 'present moment awareness'?  Do you sometimes review and assess your words and actions at a later time, or at all?

The level of self-awareness and 'present moment' observation you might bring to any situation helps ensure that there are no regrets; that you have not said "good-bye" leaving a kind word unsaid; or saying something  less kind, hurtful, or 'in judgement'.

The best way to observe your efforts of kindness is to be self-aware.  Strive to live as your 'highest Self' - the eternal part of you that is your closest reflection of pureness and perfection.

Notice how we become a reflection of what we experience all around us rather than deciding to be the best version of what we can possibly aspire to.

There is always greater room for self-reflection and the deliberate practice of kindness.

When you seek to be kind first, you release the need for judgment, holding grudges, disapproval, and criticism.

When you are upset or angered by someone, even if you think you are "concealing it well" - it often "slips out" in sarcasm, disregard, and disapproval.  If you were to practice kindness first, this loving behavior would become your first call of action.

In our acts of kindness we bring about positive behaviours in others.

Consider how you might practice kindness first; how you might observe yourself with others to ensure that any and all of your present moment experiences are indeed positive.

In loving memory of Stephen Ratusny
