1. New Chow Medical Qigong Classes at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) - covering three Campus locations!

About 100 participants flooded the Herbst Auditorium and enjoyed both Dr. Effie Chow's expert talk and demonstrations in the interactive Qigong class this past Tuesday. Participants have always enjoyed our classes, but the enthusiasms generated by the magical moments in this class were unprecedented in my experience!

The highlights of the class came when two UCSF employees volunteered to participate in the class demonstration with Dr. Chow. They both obtained almost instant relief from some chronic muscular pain and mobility problems using the Chow's Medical Qigong. One was able to bend her previously painful swollen fingers the normal way now when she could not have done it before and was recommended for surgery. The second one was able to obtain immediate relief from her shoulder pain and improve on the range of motion of her arm swing which was greatly restricted before.

It was clear that by the end of the class, the participants were fascinated by what they have experienced, and the interest to learn more qigong was growing strong.

We are now offering three series of 5 one hour classes.   You can join us in one or more of them. These classes are also open to the public at large, and is a great way for us to take charge to improve upon your own health using "qi". if you register after the deadline dates, no guarantee of space so register early. For this class series, please note that there will be a nominal discounted fee at $50 per person (for all 5 classes, Note: No partial refunds for classes missed)  Please go to  http://apasa.ucsf.edu/APASA/12464-DSY.html  to see the flyers for specific class information. 2. The Second Italian Conference of Qigong, Rome, October 15 - 16

From ancient traditions and knowledge, through a modern science, the importance of cultivating oneself and one’s own nature to live better in the modern world.
Knowing, cultivating and being able to guide one’s vital energy through the conscious use of body, breathing and mind, this is the basis of Qi Gong teaching, with the aim of improving physical health and inner wellbeing.
According to the philosophical theories at the heart of Qi Gong, the individual is the microcosm and the world around is the macrocosm.
Putting yourself back at the centre of your own life means to work, besides for yourself, for a better world, made up of conscious and healthy people, who are genuinely respectful and part of the Natural Law, the Dao.
Internationally renowned speakers Prof. Kevin Chen and Dr. Effie Chow will join us again, and for the first time in Italy Dr. Alex Feng and Dr. Wang Yan will share their knowledge and experience in the field. Together with Maria Luisa Vocca - sinologist and Qi Gong expert,
they will introduce the Science and Art of Qi Gong.
Qi Gong experience and scientific research will meet in an interdisciplinary “Round Table” made up of academics and researchers, healthcare professionals, and experts in the field.
Continuous Education Credits will be available for healthcare professionals in Italy. Co-ordinator: Marisa Vocca

“At the Congress in 2000, Dr. Chow cured my rotator cuff injury        in two seconds on television yet, and it never came back. I had the injury for about two years, very painful in my upper arm so that I could not lift it. The Dr. at Kaiser Hospital said if the pills didn’t work, they would have to do surgery. I remember the qigong master before you was very theatrical and loud. When we came on next, you said…’My style is much gentler.’ I loved it. I am so glad I have known you.”    Carol, Mill Valley, CA  2006

 13. Client / Student Testimonials

"In Dr. Chow’s presence, I feel uplifted. No matter what may be my physical, emotional, or mental state when I arrive, I quickly come to feel better—much better. With a sense of happiness and overall well-being that is typically uncharacteristic of me. Did I mention that this is merely as a result of coming into the room with her?"

Bruce Herzbach, Loch Lomond, CA, 2009

"I want to share an experience I had with Dr. Chow in February of 2006.  I had a condition called coccydynia, tailbone pain that I was suffering with in a life and death way. Dr Chow helped me move, mobilize and relieved that a great deal. She showed me how to walk and move.  It has since healed completely with the practice of Chow Qigong and Chinese medicine.  That has been a miracle over time. The real miracle that day had to do with my thumbs. I had been diagnosed by two hand doctors as having "trigger thumb", bilaterally.  One doctor told me I'd have to have cortisone in one and hand surgery for the other. The other doctor wanted to start with cortisone. I had just not wanted to treat my hands or thumbs that way. One doctor said "You'll be back". Dr. Chow suggested we work on it and I remember very clearly the way she worked with my thumbs. She gave me exercises to do after, which I did, but I was actually cured in those moments with her.  I could move both of my thumbs without pain and the pain has never returned four years later. It was a truly amazing and blessed experience."

Linda Eisenberg begin_of_the_skype_highlighting      end_of_the_skype_highlighting, Portland, Oregon, 2010

“My 15 years of severe fibromyalgia was
suddenly relieved at the workshop in 5
minutes and I now am no longer known
as ‘the grouch’…but am now called
‘smiley!’“
