Celebrate Community at Edmonds Community College April 19-28

Come and see what the college is all about. Edmonds Community College is inviting you to Celebrate CommUNITY in April.


Edmonds CC is hosting a variety of events to engage and celebrate the community. The college is opening its doors to showcase the its focus on high quality education as well as arts, culture, and civic engagement.

You’ll also get a chance to see what new opportunities are available to help you land in the right career or prepare you to transfer to a four-year university. All events — free and open to the public — are hosted at Edmonds CC, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.

Career Fair 10 a.m.-2 p.m., April 19, Woodway Hall 202
Meet with more than 50 local employers hiring for full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.

Film screening: “Big Dream” 6 p.m., April 20, Black Box Theatre
Film screening and discussion of “Big Dream,” a documentary on women in STEM careers.

Business Division Open House 10 a.m.-2 p.m., April 26, Snohomish Hall lobby
Get started in a business career. Join us to explore business programs. You’ll meet faculty, learn about the degree and certificate options, and kick start your path to success.

Edmonds CC Foundation "5K Training Group" Kick Off, 12 p.m., April 26, Seaview Gym
Get ready for Edmonds CC Foundation's inaugural "5K Walk and Run" on Nov. 19 and join the campus 5K Training Group. Bring your walking or running shoes and meet other walkers/runners in front of Seaview. You’ll train together — walking or running — at a comfortable pace. The group will meet every Tuesday at 12 p.m. from April 26 through November 15.

Join us for a Latino family night and explore opportunities with campus tours, information sessions, refreshments, and live music with the college’s Salsa band.

Community Read 7 p.m., April 27, Black Box Theatre
Join us to discuss the college’s Community Read book, “Early Warming: Crisis and Response in the Climate-Changed North” with author Nancy Lord. The book takes a cutting-edge look at how communities in the North — where global warming is amplified and climate-change effects are most immediate — are responding with desperation and creativity.

Housing Open House and BBQ 3-5 p.m., April 28, Rainier Place Residence Hall
Enjoy some BBQ as you learn about housing options. Tour a student apartment and meet students who live in Rainier Place.

College Open House 5-8 p.m., April 28, Campus Courtyard
We're ready to help you get started! Attend our open house and learn how you can define your success while you explore all your options. Enjoy some refreshments while you browse department resource tables. You can also attend information sessions on different topics such as career training programs, transfer options, and College Bound.
Program in the spotlight: Culinary Arts
Culinary Arts Students

The program combines classical cooking methods with regional flair while giving you the skills you need to run a profitable business. Learn food service management, preparation, and restaurant service while gaining experience working in our kitchens, campus restaurant, and at catered events.

Graduates of the program work at well-known restaurants and catering companies and run their own restaurants and catering businesses.

Did you know? Culinary Arts program students run a full-service fine dining restaurant, College Cafe, on campus and feature student-designed menus each week.

31st Annual Powwow

The powwow brings together students, families, and communities to celebrate American Indian singing, drumming, dancing, and arts and crafts.

Celebrate Earth Month!

Brown Bag Lecture: Dungse Jampal Norbu

Norbu presents “A Buddhist Monk’s Perspective on the Earth,” a discussion about the climate change we face from the perspective of Tibetan Buddhism. Tickets available starting at 11:15 a.m. at the door. Free.

Film and Discussion: “This Changes Everything”
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., May 12 | Black Box Theatre
Filmed in nine countries and five continents over four years, “This Changes Everything,” directed by Avi Lewis and inspired by Naomi Klein’s international non-fiction bestseller, reimagines the vast challenge of climate change.

Art Gallery hours:

This group exhibit features work created by Edmonds CC students and alumni from the Visual Arts Department. Disciplines include painting, 2D design, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, photography, graphic design, and visual communications.

The Seattle Foundation's sixth annual GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving event to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations that make our region a healthier and more vital place to live. The Edmonds Community College Foundation is one of more than 1,400 nonprofits participating.

Consider a donation, all of which are available for matching funds, to the Edmonds CC Foundation on May 3. With a couple of clicks, you can help hardworking students and double the impact of your donation. Please take a moment now to show your support!

Important Deadlines
  • May 20: Last day to withdraw from a class, add a continuous enrollment class, and to change credit/audit status (with instructor permission).
  • May 23: Registration for summer and fall begins
  • May 27-June 10: Register for Commencement at the Triton Student Center, Brier Hall 252.
