National Night Out 2014

5:30-7:30 p.m. | Tuesday, Aug. 5 | Courtyard

Join us as we celebrate National Night Out with our friends and neighbors. Edmonds CC is partnering with the Lynnwood Police Department to host National Night Out to promote safety and neighborhood camaraderie. The neighborhood gathering will include family-friendly games, free refreshments and snacks, and local officials on hand to talk about crime prevention. Free and open to the public. After National Night Out concludes, the community is invited to stay for a free outdoor showing of "Frozen" at 8:30 p.m. in the grass of the campus courtyard. Bring your chairs and blankets. Free popcorn will be served.


Latino EXPO 2014

Edmonds Community College is partnering with the Latino Education Training Institute (LETI) to host the Latino EXPO in celebration of the Americas. The event will feature live performances, free giveaways, raffles, arts and crafts, free health check ups, Latin American cuisine, local vendors, and fun activities for the whole family. Free and open to the public.


Apply for an EdSTEM scholarship!

Students studying science, technology, engineering, or math can apply for a one-year scholarship for the 2014-15 academic year. EdSTEM also provides support to help students be successful in their classes. First consideration for scholarships applications are Sept. 1; however, applications are accepted on a rolling basis through Sept. 29. Apply now at www.edcc.edu/stem.


Earn an IT Certificate online with free tuition!

PACE-ITWork at your own pace in the PACE-IT program to earn a certificate in Technology and Integration Support, Web Developer, Data Management, or Introduction to Network Security. Attend an Information and Admissions Session the first Wednesday of each month or apply online at www.edcc.edu/pace-it.

Save the date! Haunted STEM Lab

STEM Camp12-6 p.m. | Oct. 31 | Monroe Hall

Join Us! Be amazed in our spooky STEM lab. In the lab, you will witness explosive — yet safe — demonstrations and participate in hands on activities such as 3D ghost printing and laser cutting goblins. There will also be candy launches and vortex smoke rings. All ages welcome and it is free and open to the public.

You can learn to grow food and develop and manage urban agriculture systems and businesses for local markets and clients in the new Sustainable Agriculture program. Like to design? Find yourself doodling flowers on your notes? Combine your love of plants with your talent for drawing in the Landscape Design program.

The Energy Management Core Certificate of Completion is now completely online! Edmonds CC’s Energy Management program trains students in energy efficiency in the built environment. Did You Know?

The Culinary Arts program runs two on campus espresso stands; students in the program also operate Brier Grill and design, prepare, and serve lunches at the College Café, a fine dining restaurant.

The college's Culinary Arts program graduated its first class in 1987 and serves about 60 students annually. Students range in age from 18 to 60 and include recent high school graduates learning the craft as well as industry professionals adding to their knowledge of culinary technique and theory.
