Brown Bag Lecture Series: “Living on One Dollar”
Filmmakers Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple document a summer in rural Guatemala, 12:30 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 20, at the Black Box Theatre. While in Guatemala, they released short YouTube videos about the experience to help their friends learn alongside them in real time. The videos quickly received more than 700,000 views, inspiring them to complete a feature-length film, "Living on One Dollar."

Reminder: A Vintage Evening: A Gala Dinner and Auction
The Edmonds Community College Foundation's annual fundraising event to benefit students and programs is 6 p.m., Feb. 22 in Woodway Hall 202. Brad Goode of KOMO News will host, with emcees Maria Montalvo and Ruth Arista. The evening’s menu will be designed by chef Josh Henderson of Huxley Wallace Collective and Skillet Diner in Seattle and chocolatier Autumn Martin (pictured) — a distinguished Edmonds CC graduate — of Hot Cakes in Ballard. Included will be a silent and live auction with a variety of unique items that showcase the best of our community. Alumnus Timm Lovitt is honored
Alumnus Timm Lovitt was one of five community college students statewide earning a $500 “Transforming Lives” award from the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges at a ceremony Jan. 19 in Olympia. Lovitt is an Army veteran who overcame obstacles to make the dean’s list and create both the Veterans and Students Alliance for a Viable Environment clubs. Congratulations, Timm!
Wellness Bash
The Wellness and Health Promotion program presents a Wellness Bash 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wed., Feb. 26 in Woodway Hall 202. A number of companies will provide information and demonstrations. There will be insurance enrollment specialists, on-campus resource partners, hands-on health and wellness activities, and commercial booths.
Did you know?
The first building on campus was Mountlake Terrace Hall, constructed in 1970. It was renovated in 2006. The college offers 75 associate degrees and 51 professional certificates in 33 programs of study.
