Save the date: A Vintage Evening: A Gala Dinner and AuctionThe Edmonds Community College Foundation's annual fundraising event to benefit students and programs is Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. in Woodway Hall 202. Brad Goode of KOMO News will host, with emcees Maria Montalvo and Ruth Arista. The evening’s menu will be designed by chef Josh Henderson of Huxley Wallace Collective and Skillet Diner in Seattle and chocolatier Autumn Martin of Hot Cakes in Ballard, who is also an Edmonds CC Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Included will be a silent and live auction with a variety of unique items that showcase the best of our community.

Students resolve real-life scenarios in Ethics Challenge
Thirty Edmonds Community College students from various academic programs recently competed in an Ethics Challenge sponsored by the college’s Business Management program and Workforce Development and Training, in partnership with the Boeing Co. Teams discussed ethical strategies through three rounds of live scenarios. Each team — using teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills — was given seven minutes to discuss its given scenario and three minutes to present solutions.Conversations in the Humanities: Lecture by Eva Abram
The college’s Conversations in the Humanities series kicks off 7 p.m., Jan. 14, at the Black Box Theatre. University of Washington alumna Eva Abram will present “Slavery in the Northwest: The Charles Mitchell Story.” She will share the fascinating story of one of the few documented cases of slavery in Washington state — which nearly started a war between the U.S. and Canada.
