Edmonds Community College Update
PACE-IT: Free tuition for IT certificates
Students interested in the PACE-IT Program can apply online anytime or can register for and attend a PACE-IT information and admission session. The sessions will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. through December on campus in Mountlake Terrace Hall 138.
With a cover letter and resume, interested students will be able to:
- learn about and apply for the program,
- take the online assessment test, and
- possibly be admitted into the program that evening.
In the PACE-IT Program, students pay no tuition and work at their own pace to earn an IT certificate online. They pay only for books, college enrollment fees, and any IT industry certification exam fees.

- Introduction to Network Security

Licensed Practical Nursing Program information sessions
The Licensed Practical Nursing Program is designed for students who hold a valid CNA license in Washington state and are currently working in a direct patient care profession such as nursing assistant, medical assistant, or surgical technician. Take the next step in your career! Apply by June 20 to start in the fall. The financial aid deadline is June 1.

Boots to Books and Beyond
We love veterans — and the Edmonds CC Foundation has embarked on a $1 million campaign to support student veterans, ensuring a supportive path from military service to the college. Boots to Books and Beyond funds will support critical on-campus resources, services, and activities during the next five years and beyond.

Celebration of Food Festival 2014
Taste, explore, and experience real food, and attend gardening demonstrations and presentations on growing, cooking, and preserving food. This free, family event is May 18 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. There will be free samples! Co-sponsored by Edmonds Community College.
Program in the spotlight: I-BEST
Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) pairs Adult Basic Education and/or English as a Second Language (ESL) education with job skills training. I-BEST was designed to directly transition students into college-level programs, building skills to help them achieve career training certificates to obtain high-demand and high-paying jobs. Students receive extra support and classroom help, whether in a team-taught class with two instructors or in a secondary I-BEST support class format.
“A Night to Remember” benefit concert
The Project Home Association hosts its fifth annual “A Night To Remember” silent auction and benefit concert April 11 at the Black Box Theatre. Proceeds from this event go to transitional housing scholarships for Edmonds CC students. The featured entertainment for the night is the Weatherheads, an Edmonds-based rock band that plays music you already know how to dance to. Get a bachelor’s degree online
Edmonds CC has partnered with both Washington State University and University of Washington’s Extended Learning Office to offer a series of fully accredited online and schedule-flexible bachelor’s degrees. Degrees include Business Administration, Social Sciences, Human Development, Criminal Justice, Communication, English, Humanities, and Health Informatics and Health Information Management. Save the date: Edmonds Unplugged
Headlining the annual Edmonds Unplugged April 25 at the Black Box Theatre is Seattle resident Courtney Marie Andrews, whose new album, “On My Page,” is produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Ra Ra Riot, Blonde Redhead). Opening the show is Seattle rock band Dismal Tide, which has a album out titled “The Breaks.”
