An award from U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs brought scholars from Brazil, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, India, Indonesia, and Pakistan to Edmonds Community as part of the Northwest Community College Initiative. Service-learning 2011
During winter quarter, students enrolled in Anthropology 201-203 Human Ecology I-III will participate in field projects. Transportation, snowshoes (courtesy of REI), and instruction in wildlife tracking are provided as part of the class. Scholarships of $1,132-$2,675 through AmeriCorps are available to eligible students. The field projects will be:
- Cascade Citizens Wildlife Monitoring Project along I-90
- Snohomish County Wildlife Passage Project
- Fisher Reintroduction Project on Olympic Peninsula
