Edmonds Community College has proudly served our community for 50 years, and we want to celebrate with you! We're kicking off a year of celebrations with a free community event on Sept. 16. Join us as we commemorate 50 years of the college's commitment to student success, strengthening our diverse community, and lifelong learning. See full event info below!
Fall quarter begins Sept. 19, and Edmonds CC will offer a variety of events to engage students and the community. Check out events for the month of September below, and check the

Edmonds CC’s 50th Anniversary Kickoff
4-9 p.m. Sept. 16, Triton Field
Join us for the college’s kickoff celebration for music through the decades from
The Burg (live radio broadcast, 4-5 p.m.),
The Spazmatics (live ‘80s music, 5:30-6:30 p.m.), and
The Afrodisiacs (live ‘70s disco, 7-9 p.m.). Enjoy fare from local food trucks, including
Chopstix,
Street Treats, and
Dirty Dog, and drinks from a no host beer and wine garden (for those 21+). Want to join? Go to the Edmonds CC

Triton Welcome Week
Resource Fair
8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 19-20, Courtyard between Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace halls
The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership Student Activities Board will host a resource the first two days of fall quarter. Learn more about campus programs, clubs, resources, and events. There will be free coffee and light refreshments. A mobile welcome cart will be around campus from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Sept. 21-22.
Campus Connectors
On campus from Sept. 19-20
Look for friendly faces wearing orange shirts. Campus Connectors will be posted around campus to welcome students, pass out campus maps, give directions, and show students to classrooms.
Movie Night
6 p.m. Sept. 23, Black Box Theatre
Join us to watch “The Secret Life of Pets!” with other Tritons. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and food and drinks will be provided! This event is free.
Welcome Back BBQ
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 28, Courtyard between Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace halls
Meet new friends and share an inexpensive meal. A burger, drink, and chips or dessert will be $3.

Other September happenings
EdPass Setup event
7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 19-20, 8 a.m.-6 p.m Sept. 21-22, and 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 23, Black Box Theatre
EdPass services will be offered in the Black Box Theatre during the first week of school. Students and staff will be issued EdPasses and parking permits in the theater. All new students will be issued an EdPass with the new college logo and design. Current students with an EdPass that is two years or older from the issue date printed on the card must have their card replaced with the new design. EdPasses that are less than two years from the issue date are valid.
Triton Jumpstart
10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 17, or 12-3 p.m. Sept. 24, Woodway Hall 202
New students will be provided with a dynamic and meaningful way to learn about the programs, services, and resources Edmonds CC has to offer for their success and more. Students who attend will be better prepared to begin their college education here. Open to ALL new students to Edmonds CC, regardless of which quarter they begin. Sign up by contacting the Advising Resource Center at 425.640.1458.
Volunteer to Monitor Water Quality at Japanese Gulch
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 24
Volunteer with others from the Edmonds CC Center for Student Engagement and Leadership and the college’s Anthropology Department to perform water quality monitoring at Japanese Gulch in Mukilteo. Transportation will be provided by the college. Go to

Program in the spotlight: Information Security and Digital Forensics
Students in the Information Security and Digital Forensics program learn the latest technology and methods for solving today’s business IT security needs. Edmonds CC offers a Digital Forensics Certificate, an Information Security and Digital Forensics Associate of Technical Arts degree, and more. Courses cover computer forensics, system security for Windows and Linux hosts and servers, packet analysis, virtual private network and firewall implementation, security risk analysis and assessment, and policy development.
Did you know? Several Edmonds CC Computer Information Systems instructors are internationally recognized experts in information security and digital forensics. They have also been subject matter experts in cyber terrorism for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“River Run” is a yearlong progressively cumulative installation responding to sites around Puget Sound from Bainbridge Island, Ellensburg, Bellingham, Seattle, and in its most expansive iteration culminating at Edmonds Community College’s Art Gallery. |

Community Read: “Prayers for the Stolen” by Jennifer Clement
The Edmonds CC Community Read — an Arts, Culture, and Civic Engagement program and part of the college's Lecture Series — brings the campus and community together to read one book in order to:
- Build community through a common intellectual experience.
- Promote literacy across the campus and community through the adoption of thoughtful, noteworthy works of literature or scholarship.
- Offer instructors an opportunity to invigorate curriculum with vital issues and great ideas.
- Enrich the lives of students, employees, and the community of south Snohomish County.
