Energy Cooridor Strives to Alleviate Traffic
As Houston traffic continues to pile up during rush hour and beyond, the Energy Corridor Management District is busy expanding a local CarShare program to ease commuters’ reliance on personal vehicles.

CarShare allows those who utilize alternative means of transportation — such as Houston transit, bikes or carpools — another way to get around independently while at work. Marketed towards Energy Corridor professionals and apartment residents, members of the service rent fuel-efficient cars to take care of personal needs. By encouraging the public to try out new forms of travel, the goal of CarShare is to not only reduce traffic, but to cut down air pollution. Read More

Real Views With Sherry Campbell
School has started again, and we are all having to deal with the increase in traffic. Plan on adding 20-30 minutes to your commute for the first month as everyone adjusts to the school traffic flow.

In the Energy Corridor, we are both excited and nervous about all the development and growth. Excited for the potential increase in property values, and nervous about the increase in traffic. Let’s face it, the Energy Corridor will no longer be the suburbs. We will be surrounded by highrises, restuarants, and shopping. If the proposed “City Center” in the Exxon space goes in, then we can look forward to being able to walk to even more great restaurants and shopping.

Make sure to buckle in, because it looks the real estate market will continue to be a crazy ride. The market is shifting about every 3 months, and we do not have the crazy Seller’s market that we had at the beginning of the year. In the beginning of the year, houses were being overpriced that were not updated or even pretty, and they sold! Buyers appear to me more cautious again in this market, and inventory levels are slowly increasing. You will need a Real Estate profesional to guide you on how to prepare your house to sell and to price correctly.

Now, as a buyer, all you have to do is sit back and wait for your loan to close … right? Wrong! Read More

10 Things to Do Before Selling Your House
1. Get rid of any extra furniture- This means that any furniture that doesn’t serve a real, functional purpose needs to go. It can be sold, or just in storage, but it needs to get out of the house. You want as much of your space shown as you can.

2. Hide the toys- Before taking any listing photos or showing your house, hide the toys! Unless there is a designated area used as a playroom, toys need to be hidden. Buyers want the spaces they are looking at to feel fresh, clean, and grown up.

Color Your Home Happy with Hues that Tie It Together
Paint color is one of the simplest and least expensive ways to transform the look of a room and add value to your home. You can completely alter the look of a room with a fresh coat of paint. Many tools exist to help you choose a great color that achieves the look and feel you are seeking.

Choosing a wall paint that complements your furniture and achieves the vibe you want the room to emanate can be easily accomplished by following a few simple steps. But before you plunge right into paint color selection, you'd be wise to finalize the overall scheme of the room in question. It's easy to change paint color but not so easy to change the fabric on your couch or arm chair or the color and style of the flooring or carpet
