The FNHA Vancouver Island team welcomes Seulbi to the family as an Environmental Health Officer |
|
Hello everyone,
My name is Seulbi and I’m so excited to be here! Fun fact, my name ‘Lee, Seulbi’ means light rain in Korean.
I worked as a half-field and half Communicable Disease Control EHO with Island Health for two years before coming here. I love being an EHO because I get to go outside the office, meet new people, and make connections with my community. I’m looking forward to building relationships with my new communities and making a difference no matter how big or small.
Before I became an EHO, I was a flight attendant with WestJet, which gave me lots of opportunities to travel and see the world. Now that I don’t have the benefit of travelling cheaply, I aim to explore various parts of Vancouver Island with my husband and two dogs. Please let me know if you have any recommendation for places to visit, camp, and backpack!
Outside of work, I like to keep myself busy – I enjoy cooking new dishes, baking buns and sweets that you can’t find on the island, gardening, going on long walks with my dogs, rain or shine, training for taekwondo (I can do mean jump front kicks!), and camping/backpacking with my friends.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you

Healthy Medication Use Pharmacy Care Initiative Grant |
|
Pharmacists are an easily accessible health care provider who can help clients manage their medications and optimize drug therapy. Pharmacists can provide a number of services in addition to dispensing medications, including prescribing for common ailments and contraception, providing immunizations, offering recommendations for over-the-counter medications covered by Plan W, conducting annual medication reviews, and providing certain medical supplies and equipment. The FNHA is supporting the link between health care service organizations and pharmacy services with new Pharmacy Care Initiative Grants to better promote and enhance client care.
Along with the grant, Nations will be able to gain continuous access to information related to health statistics for their people. Important statistics about Diabetes Management, OTC’s, Cardiovascular Heart Health and Opioid Agonist Therapy and much more. This important information can help set goals, prioritize health care needs, and influence health promotion.
If you have questions or would like more details please reach out to Candy-Lee Chickite at Candy-Lee.Chickite@fnha.ca

WATCH project event: Safe shellfish solutions for all coastal First Nations |
|
The FNHA is hosting an event to discuss the future of the We All Take Care of the Harvest (WATCH) project.
On November 26 and 27, the FNHA will be hosting Safe Shellfish Solutions, an event intended to bring together coastal First Nations and the WATCH network for conversations on the future of the WATCH project.
The We All Take Care of the Harvest (WATCH) is a seafood and climate change project co-designed and led by pilot First Nations communities and the WATCH Network from August 2020 to March 2024. This year is in transition to determining its future use.
The purpose of the pilot was to help communities access timely safety information for important marine foods, plan for climate impacts affecting marine foods, and promote seafood safety, security, and sovereignty for coastal First Nations. The transition period is focused on identifying key priorities, areas of expansion, and sustainable programs and services.
