Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says she is lifting more COVID-19 restrictions in the province because of BC's lowered rates of hospitalization and transmission. The lifting of the mask mandate and other restrictions is a welcome sign for many people, however we need to be mindful that there will be those around us who will adapt to the easing of restrictions at their own pace. People will do this in a way that is right for them, and as always, this is a time for kindness and understanding. Learn more |

Changing Models of COVID-19 Testing. Moving from Public Health Management to Early Access to Treatments – March 21 & 28 |
|
|
Upcoming Education Sessions on COVID-19 testing and treatment
The FNHA Vancouver Coastal COVID-19 Education team is pleased to announce upcoming information sessions:
- “The Changing models of COVID-19 testing. Moving from Public Health Management to Early Treatment Access in the Vancouver Coastal Region.”
- 2 identical sessions: March 21st from 2:30- 4pm or March 28th from 10-11:30am
- Audience: Health Leadership including Nurses and other Health care staff and Community leadership in Vancouver Coastal Region Communities.
Summary: As the COVID-19 Omicron wave recedes, British Columbia is moving into a new phase of pandemic management. This phase will shift from COVID-19 testing for the purpose of case and contact management to focus on testing symptomatic individuals who are at high risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19, so that they can quickly be connected with highly-effective, time-sensitive treatments if they test positive.
These sessions will introduce newly created resources, provide a brief overview of coming changes, highlight pathways to testing and treatment and provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.
