Good Friday Service
Friday, April 3rd at 7:30pm at CFUMC
This Friday evening we gather for Good Friday worship — and this year the service is a little different.
We've stepped back from the full Tenebrae structure and built something quieter: six movements through the Passion story, woven with ancient poetry and song from the church's long tradition. Taizé chants. A spiritual. Julian of Norwich. The kind of service that asks you to slow down and stay with what happened before rushing to what comes next.
We don't do this very well as a culture — sitting with grief, waiting in the dark, resisting the urge to skip to Easter. Good Friday is the church's counterproposal. Come and see what it feels like.
The service is open to all. We'll end in silence.
