Give to the 2026 Annual Conference Offering

Each year, Virginia United Methodists join together to support ministries that stretch beyond any single congregation. This year's Annual Conference Offering is shared between two powerful initiatives:

The MJ Kim Fund honors the legacy of the Rev. Myung Johng "MJ" Kim — the first Asian-American pastor ordained as elder in the Virginia Conference — by supporting immigrant clergy as they navigate the complex and costly immigration process in order to serve our churches and communities. In a time when that process has become more uncertain and burdensome than ever, this fund offers tangible help to pastors answering a call to ministry here.

The Virginia Conference Center for Belonging and Advocacy is the Conference's newest ministry area, led by the Rev. Lan Davis Wilson. It equips congregations across Virginia to build genuine cultures of inclusion — developing and deploying resources and strategies for belonging that reach beyond our walls.

You can give in two ways:

Faith Explorers will begin studying Richard Rohr's newest book , "The Tears of Things", a book about prophetic wisdom for an age of outrage.

All are invited to join together in room 308 after worship and Portico Cafe in studying some interesting prophets and what their messages might mean for us today.

Charlottesville First UMC Receives 2026 Green Church Award!

We have exciting news to share: Charlottesville First UMC has been selected to receive the 2026 Green Church Award from the Virginia United Methodist Church Board of Church and Society — a recognition of our congregation's ongoing commitment to Creation Justice Ministries and care for God's good earth.

The award will be presented at the VAUMC Annual Conference at James Madison University in Harrisonburg on Friday, June 19. There are two ways to celebrate with us:

  • Board of Church and Society Banquet —  12:00 Noon, 1681 Carrier Drive, Harrisonburg. Join fellow United Methodists for lunch as the award is presented. There is a $25 registration fee
  • Afternoon Plenary Session —  2:00 PM, Atlantic Union Bank Center, JMU Campus. The award will also be recognized during the conference's awards ceremony, open to all.

We'd love to have members present for this celebration! If you'd like to represent CFUMC at either event — or attend Annual Conference yourself — please contact the church office. We'd love to have members present for this celebration!
