New Beginnings on the Staff Team!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news about our staff as we move into the summer season.

Lara Upton is stepping into a newly created role as Director of Engagement and Discipleship, bringing her gifts for connecting people and nurturing faith into an expanded scope of ministry. In this role, Lara will oversee our discipleship pathways, coordinate volunteer engagement across the congregation, and provide leadership for our children's, youth, and family ministries. She will also serve as a key connector between our various ministry teams and as a vital link between CFUMC and our partners in the broader Charlottesville community — including our work with Southwood and IMPACT. We are so grateful for Lara's gifts and excited to see them flourish in this new capacity.

To bridge the transition in Youth and Children's Ministry while we conduct a permanent search, Dr. CJ McCrary is joining us as Interim Coordinator for Children & Youth Ministries beginning June 1. CJ brings energy, experience, and genuine love for our kids and families, and we are grateful she is stepping up to carry this ministry through the summer.

We are also delighted to welcome Rev. Devon Maust Earle as our new Fresh Expressions Minister, a quarter-time role developed in partnership with the Wesley Foundation, where Devon will continue to serve as director. In her work with us, Rev. Maust Earle will be exploring new and creative forms of Christian community — helping us reach people and places our traditional ministries may not yet touch. We can't wait to see what grows. |

All three of these transitions take effect June 1. Please join us in celebrating this season of new beginnings and in holding Lara, CJ, and Devon in your prayers as they step into their roles!

Adult Fellowship Group – Room 208, 11:15 a.m. Sundays
The Adult Fellowship Group will begin a new study, “
When Christians Get It Wrong” by Adam Hamilton on June 7th. In this 6-part weekly series, we will explore how following Jesus can be more about open doors than locked fences, more about serving people than judging them, more about joyful living than angry fighting. Please join with us on this journey. For more information, contact Hu Shaffer <huberts@aol.com> or just show up in person.

A need has been brought to us from Dr. Denise Young that the Doula she is working with is assisting a family, who is raising the children of a deceased mother. They need clothes for the children. The sizes needed for 2 boys are 2 T & 3 T; and a girl size 10-12. They are not asking for new clothing; serviceable used clothing will be fine. If you would like to help, please bring the clothing in a bag marked “Dr. Young” Thank you in advance. We will get it delivered ASAP.
