Property prices in Portugal soared in 2022
Algarve real estate saw an annual price increase of 17.7%, among the highest in the country.
House prices in Portugal increased 18.7% in 2022 from the previous year, source Confidencial Imobiliario, which collects data on the property market.
What is required as an owner to sell a property in Portugal?
 
There is a list of personal and house documents in order to sell your property in Portugal.
It is on one hand the proof that you are the legal owner of the property, on the other hand it shows that the property fulfills all requirements from the notary like houseplans, house BI, energy certificate and a few others. 
 
When selling your property in Portugal most of the work is done by the buyer's lawyer, it's not mandatory for you to have a lawyer when selling, however it is strongly advisable.
 
There is a capital gains tax applicable with different rates depending on your tax status in Portugal either as a resident, non-habitual resident or just a holiday home owner.
