Rotgipfler, a natural crossing of Traminer and Roter Veltliner, is a pale-skinned variety indigenous to Austria’s Thermenregion. This producer ferments in 70% stainless steel and 30% in large barrels. Lightly chalky green apple and citrus notes along with a hint of fresh herbs on the nose. The palate opens to more generous pear and apple fruits accented by a slight nuttiness, finishing with firm acidity and a sense of salty green olive.
