Located in a hilly area between the provinces of Avellino and Benevento. This area is characterized by its wide variety of soils, clay, limestone and sand influenced by the ashes of the famous Vesuvius volcano. Aglianico is the powerful, age worthy, full-bodied red varietal in this region. Maceration lasts about 14-20 days. Aged 12 months in new French oak barrels. The wine is then refined for a few years in vats and in the bottle. Showing some evolution to the fruit, this wine brings aromas of fresh blackberry and black cherry with fig, dried rose petals, and hints of tobacco and cocoa nib. The palate brings a mineral component along with cola and subtle spice notes. The structure will assert itself on the finish with juicy acidity balancing defined tannins and a hint of black tea. The perfect pairing for that ultimate cheeseburger!
