Planeta is widely recognized as an icon of Sicilian wine production, a family that traces its local roots back 17 generations. While their reputation is largely anchored in the premium end of the wine spectrum, like many such producers, they also maintain a line of "entry level" wines, such as La Segreta, with which they use the same level of expertise both in the vineyard and cellar as in their "tete de cuvee" selections, resulting in wines of amazing value. The Bianco is a blend of 50% Grecanico, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Viognier, and 10% Fiano, all cultivated using practicing organic standards.
" Citrus, seashells, and salt on the nose take you to Sicily, but then a delightfully unexpected combination of nutty and grassy aromas open up the panorama.
