This wine was so popular last time we featured it we couldn't pass it up when it became available again. A crusher of a deal that will satisfy the palate for the wine drinking neophyte as well as the sophisticate. This new grape variety was bred at the Klosterneuburg Teaching and Research Centre for Viticulture and Pomology. The grape has high resistance and can therefore be produced in a more environmentally friendly, sustainable, and economical way. On the nose, it opens with ripe, straightforward Riesling fruit, apricots, orange zest, a touch of lemon balm, and delicate citrus notes; on the palate, it remains fruit-forward, mouth-filling, with a robust structure balanced by a lively acidity; beautifully substantial, clearly defined, with considerable depth and a fine finish. The other Riesling attribute it has is incredible versatility when it comes with food matchups. Don't worry about how to pronounce it until you've had a glass, or two!

The full throttled Cali Red that launched dozens of imitation full throttled Cali Reds comes to Sunday! The Prisoner Wine Company famously scours the state for the deepest, darkest, ripest, most intense Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec, then slathers them with oak, 35% new. The resulting wine is full bodied and opulent, revealing classic cranberry, blackberry, dried plum, caramelized vanilla, nutmeg, and toasted coconut on the nose. Soft, smooth, luscious on the palate with the oak successfully buffering the tannic load these grapes present, culminating in a very big wine with forgivingly soft texture that manages to integrate it's hefty (15.5%) alcohol load.

"Hendrick's Gin is created via an absurdly inefficient, yet quite glorious process. In essence, to make one gin, we first create two. One on an old-fashioned pot still, yielding a rich and intricate spirit. The other on a long-necked Carter Head, producing a delicate, more refined spirit. Each still is infused with an unusual symphony of 11 botanicals: chamomile, elderflower, juniper, lemon peel, orange peel, caraway, coriander, cubeb berries, angelica root, yarrow root and orris root. The gins from the two stills are then married together and graced with curious yet marvellous infusions of Rose and Cucumber.
