The Felten Family are 5th generation Lodi grape growers, who in 2000 founded the Klinker Brick label, with Old Vine Zinfandel being their inaugural bottling. They subsequently expanded into a wide range of more esoteric varietals (for California), such as Albarino, Dolcetto, Carignane, and Grenache Blanc. "Bricks and Roses" is meant to be an homage to the roses of Provence as it is composed of traditional southern French varietals Grenache, Carignane, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.
"Aromas of lush, youthful red berries are present on the nose, and the flavors on the palate are punctuated with pomegranate, strawberry, and orange zest. At the same time, the texture speaks of sedimentary rock and a healthy amount of acidity to cleanse the mouth, welcoming you to take another sip. Pair with butterleaf salad, strawberries, soft goat cheese."
