Davis-Brown property we visited in May featured in Time

The June 2 issue of Time magazine included an article and video entitled "The Lesson of How One California Home Survived Last Year's Historic Wildfires." The home was the one we visited with Rick Halsey on May 5, designed by property owners John Davis and Lorrie Brown of the Ojai firm, Davis Brown Architecture. In fact, some of the video was shot on the day we were there.

Mystery hedge in Geico commercial
One of my favorite drought tolerant native plants is featured (without a credit!) in a current Geico commercial. The first person to email lanny@herbwalks.com with the name of this plant will receive a prize of a native plant book the next time he/she shows up at an event. If you would like a longer look at it, you can see the video at this link.

Stevia for Lyme disease?
I received a letter from friend, massage therapist and artist Donna Summerville with the subject line, "Stevia Proving to be Better than Antibiotics for Killing Lyme Disease." You may be as intrigued as I am by what she had to say.
